Volunteer & Employment Opportunities

We’d love for you to join our team as a volunteer!  You can help us meet the needs of clients in the following ways, so please check out the opportunities that interest you the most. Download the Volunteer Information and Application Form and mail or fax it to us.

Client Activities*
  • Help chaperone a field trip to a mall, movie, bowling alley or other site.  We go lots of places on a regular basis. You’ll get to know our clients, and enjoy the activities with them.
  • Interact with clients and other developmentally disabled adults at our Thursday night dinner dances, where you can help serve food to 140 individuals, enjoy D.J. music, arts, crafts and other activities.  We start at 6 p.m. and end at 9 p.m.
  • Share your skills by reading or having conversations with clients or helping clients with games, arts and crafts, singing or dancing.  You can do this week days from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

*Requires OSBI background check

Friendraising/Fundraising
  • Sponsor a fundraising event in your home or business.  We can provide literature and a person to speak about the Foundation.
  • Help coordinate group tours of our headquarters on weekdays so that others in the community can see how important our work is.
  • Coordinate a garage sale using items donated to the Foundation.  You recruit the volunteers and manage the sale at the Foundation or at another location.*
  • Sort and pack donated clothing, house wares, linens and other items we receive on a weekly basis.  Some items are made available for sale to clients, while other goods are sent to Bargain Thrift for resale on our behalf.*
  • Serve on a board committee.

*Requires OSBI background check

Facilities Upkeep/Maintenance
  • If you have a green thumb or just like to mow or edge grass, plant flowers or trim bushes, we can use your help.
  • We can benefit from your handyman skills when it comes to painting woodwork, fixing fences, light plumbing and general maintenance.
